How Can YOU Help?

Will you be there when disaster strikes? United Way of Indian River County, in collaboration with other VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) members in Indian River County, needs volunteers to register and stand by to help victims of hurricanes or other natural or man-made disasters in this area. Indian River County VOAD is a collaboration of about 40 local organizations, including nonprofit agencies, emergency and human services and faith-based organizations striving to plan the best possible response to anyone in need of help -- including you or your neighbor. Volunteer duties will include distributing ice and water, helping in shelters, serving meals to the homeless, removing debris, assisting the elderly, delivering donations and even helping recruit spontaneous volunteers.
